50 get offer letters at mini job mela in Vemulawada
Karimnagar: About 50 unemployed youths and students from rural backgrounds bagged offer letters in the mini job mela organised by the Government Degree College in association with the District Employment Office on the college premises at Agraharam in Vemulawada of Rajanna Sircilla district on Thursday.
Government chief whip and Vemulawada Congress MLA Aadi Srinivas, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the job fair attended by around 250 jobseekers with SSC, Intermediate, and degree qualifications across the district.
The MLA called upon the students to develop academic and professional skills apart from keeping abreast with the latest technology as the state government was determined to fill around two lakh vacancies soon.
District employment officer Neela Raghavendra said that there was a good response to the mini job mela in which around 10 companies took part and selected the candidates for various jobs by offering salaries ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, he said.
College principal Vadluri Srinivas said that the purpose of the job fair was to provide employment opportunities to rural youths.
College placement officer Kirthi Rajesh, vice-principal T. Srinivas, IQAC coordinator V. Venkateshwarlu, academic coordinator Madhu Rajesh, faculty members Usmani, Malla Reddy, Srinivasulu, Prabhakar, Karuna, Deepika, Arjun, Fakir, and Ramesh Babu were present.
