Rs 8.84 cr generated from pending traffic challans in last two days
Hyderabad: Even as motorists are in a rush to clear pending traffic challans to take advantage of the discount facility that began on Tuesday, the traffic challan website is down and is unable to handle the heavy rush.
Despite the technical glitches, the department earned Rs 8.84 crore from 10.29 lakh pending challans across the state in the first two days. The actual value of the challans without discount could be around '25 crore, opined
police officials.
However, there was no word on addressing the heavy rush and technical glitches in the website.
The state government had issued orders offering a heavy discount on pending traffic challans across the state, in fulfillment of one of its election promises. Motorists with pending challans can opt for a one-time settlement
up to January 10.
