Chennai students upset as zoology exam tough
Students found 3 marks, one mark and five marks questions were very difficult.
Chennai: State board students were upset after writing the biology paper as they faced many unexpected and tough questions on Monday. According to students, while botany was very easy, zoology was tough and the questions indirect.
The 3 marks, one mark and five marks questions were very difficult. Toppers found it difficult to answer these. “I found sections B and D very hard. The questions given from these sections were not based on five year or ten-year question banks,” said S. Kaviya, a student from St. Marian Matriculation School. She added, “I will get 75 out of 75 in botany, but my marks will come down in zoology.”
Another student S. Rajan from St. Thomas Higher Secondary school said that he wants to study medicine, but feels his chances are not good because of the tough zoology question paper. “Botany was very easy,” he said. P. Ramesh, a biology teacher in Karpaga Vinayaga Matriculation School in Pudukottai, said that the questions were asked from the syllabus.
“Unexpected questions were asked, unlike in previous years, so students found it difficult. Even the toppers found it difficult. One or two marks doesn’t count for a centum so it may not affect the overall marks,” he said. He added that students should prepare themselves thoroughly for such unexpected questions.
