Kris Gopalakrishnan, S D Shibulal to promote Kerala IT industry globally

Sources said that the committee would provide input on market conditions to the government as well as promote the state IT sector.

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has constituted a high-power IT committee comprising industry  leaders like Mr Kris Gopalakrishnan,  former chief executive officer of Infosys, as members to promote Kerala  as a global IT destination. Mr Shibulal, former chief executive officer of Infosys, will be the chairman of the committee.

The other members  include V.K. Mathews, chairman,  IBS Software,   Ajith Balakrishnan, former chief executive officer, Rediff Mail,  Duleep Sahadevan of Software Associates, Anthony Thomas, chief information officer, GE India, Ashok Pammidi, regional director, NASSCOM,   Saji Gopinath of IIM-Kozhikode, Rajesh Nair, director,  Ernst & Young,   Dinesh Thampi, vice-president, Tata Consultancy Services, M. Sivasankar,   IT secretary, and Hrishikesh Nair,  chief executive officer of Technopark, Infopark and Cyberpark.

Sources said that the committee would  provide input on market conditions to the government as well as promote the state IT sector.  The first meeting of the committee, which could also refer Kerala as a favourable IT destination to potential investors, would be held soon.
