HYDERABAD: Reacting to the death of nine-year-old P. Mounica, PCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday said the claims of Hyderabad being a global city stood exposed as the city’s young were left to the mercy of dogs and manholes.
In his tweet, he asked people to brace up for the next monsoon and safeguard their own lives. “Lives of children are swallowed by manholes, street dogs in this global city. Death of Mounica in Kalasiguda has deeply disturbed. The lives of commoners sacrificed at the altars of the predisposition of those who are at the helm. Oh denizens of Hyderabad...the rainy season is coming. Since the government does n’t care, protect yourselves (sic),” he tweeted.
