Kerala tops in CBSE class X exam results

Thiruvananthapuram region covering the entire state recorded the highest pass percentage of 99.87.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram region covering the entire state recorded the highest pass percentage of 99.87 in the CBSE class X examinations, the results of which were  announced on Saturday. In the class XII examinations also, Thiruvananthapuram with an overall pass percentage of 97.61 had topped the list.

The overall pass percentage of class X in the country is  96.21.   Of the total 74,085 candidates who appeared for  the examinations from the Thiruvananthapuram region, 73,987  passed. They include  38,269 boys (99.85 percent)  and 35,718 girls (99.89 percent). The boys’ overall pass percentage in the country stood at 96.11 and  girls’   96.36.

The government schools in Thiruvananthapuram region have  a pass percentage of 95.07,  independent schools 99.92, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas 100 and Kendriya Vidyalayas  98.73.  Students of 1,226 schools appeared for the class X examinations from the state.
