Bengaluru: Rag picker kills friend with a boulder to ‘win’ his wife

Bengaluru: A ragpicker blugeoned his newly-married friend to death so that he could have physical relationship with his wife.

The incident took place in Pategarpalya on Monday night and deceased has been identified as Robin (35), a ragpicker.

Both the deceased and his wife, and the accused, Tanveer Khan (28), were homeless.

Robin got married to Meena, also a ragpicker, 15 days ago. Tanveer, who befriended Meena wanted to have physical relationship with her.

Robin recently got to know they both had several fights over the issue. On Monday night while Robin was asleep, Tanveer crushed his head using a boulder. Robin died on the spot. The incident happened near Mannappuram Gold Loan company outlet in Pategarpalya.

Vijayanagar police have registered a case and are looking for Tanveer. The police said Tanveer was earlier arrested for theft.
