Weather turns more hot in East Godavari, Mahanadu partly hit by rain
KAKINADA: The People of erstwhile East Godavari district experienced hot weather conditions, the temperature rising to 48 degree C on Sunday. It partly impacted the Telugu Desam public meeting near Rajamahendravaram.
Many people thronged the Maha Nadu at Vemagiri, where the birth centenary of late CM and veteran actor NT Rama Rao was observed. They experienced difficulty in the tents erected by the Telugu Desam with less air-circulation.
By the time the public meeting started in the evening, there was heavy rain with thunderstorms and huge gales. Srikakulam MP K Rammohan Naidu who was on the dais frequently cautioned the people to keep themselves away from the flex boards, electrical poles and sound boxes, as they could fall down due to the heavy winds.
Telugu Desam general secretary Nara Lokesh arrived at the meeting venue when it was raining heavily. “My uncle (Hindupur MLA N Balakrishna) had told me about the strength of astrology and good Muhurat. Now I experienced it. My uncle, who always observed the auspicious time before starting from his house, has not faced the rain. But I had to face it,” he said.
Chandrababu Naidu commented that during the morning time, it was hot summer and by the evening, it was cool with the rain. “This is a good sign for the Telugu Desam to win the coming elections,” a hopeful Naidu felt.
Thousands of people thronged the Telugu Desam Mahanadu rally. TD state president K Achannaidu said that only 10 per cent of the people were on the ground and 90 per cent of the people were on the roads as they were caught in the traffic jams.
Peddapuram MLA Nimmakayala China Rajappa said that on Saturday, the TD had invited only 15,000 TD volunteers, but one lakh of them attended. “We expected one lakh people for today’s public meeting, but 10 lakh people came. This proved that the people want Chandrababu’s rule as Jagan Reddy destroyed all the systems in the state.
