Bhuthkuri Shankar Luke appointed as vice-chairman of TS Minorities Commission

Hyderabad: The state government on Friday appointed Bhuthkuri Shankar Luke as vice-chairman of the TS Minorities Commission. He will represent the Christian community. He had held the post from January 2018 to January 2021.

The appointment came on the day Deccan Chronicle reported in these columns about the Christian community expressing its anger at the state government  (Christians unhappy with BRS govt, say lost hope, July 28).

The BRS government had constituted the commission on March 3 after two years, appointing Tariq Ansari as chairman. The next day it appointed Mohammad Atharullah, Mohammad Tanveer and Darshan Singh as members. The Christian community was upset over their community not getting representation.
