Sushma Swaraj offers help to veteran dancer living in penury
The 80-year-old Balgopal is one of the most famous dancers of Kathak, Kathakali and Bharatanatyam in the country.

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister SushmaSwaraj on Monday called and offered help to veteran danseuse Tara Balgopal who is living in a state of penury in the national capital.
"I have spoken to Ms Tara Balgopal. I have understood the problem. We will help her," Sushma tweeted.

The 80-year-old Balgopal is one of the most famous dancers of Kathak, Kathakali and Bharatanatyam in the country.
She was living in a dilapidated room in west Delhi's Rajouri Garden, filled with obscure household items.
Swaraj's initiative comes in the backdrop of the danseuse's situation going viral on social media.
