Thiruvananthapuram Munsif Court stays Congress polls
Now what is going to happen is that Mr Bahu will be trying to bargain for accommodation into the party.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram Munsif Court has stayed the organisational elections of the Congress until October 17. This has caused further damage to the KPCC leadership with allegations being raised against each other by the two factions in the Congress. A former mandalam president belonging to former Thiruvananthapuram East and the current Nemom Kalippankulam ward, S. Bahu’s plea was upheld by the Thiruvananthapuam Munsif Court.
It is interesting to note that Mr Bahu is also an INTUC under KSEB where KPCC organising general secretary and prominent ‘A’ group leader Thampanoor Ravi is the president. But recently the two leaders parted ways owing to differences of opinion. However, a section of Congress leaders feel that Mr Bahu would not have moved court if not for the support received from the top brass of the leadership.
“Now what is going to happen is that Mr Bahu will be trying to bargain for accommodation into the party. Once the KPCC leadership agrees to include him in the delegate list of the KPCC governing council, he will automatically cancel the case,” said a KPCC secretary. But a prominent Congress MLA told this newspaper that if the KPCC passes a resolution citing that the delegate list has already been passed on Wednesday, the case will not stand.
