AP Gives Paid Holiday for Its Staff With Voting Rights in Telangana

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh chief electoral officer Mukesh Kumar Meena has announced a paid holiday for employees of AP with voting rights in Telangana in view of general assembly elections in TS on Thursday.

AP government has issued a government order declaring a holiday for such Andhra Pradesh employees on Thursday, when polling will be held in Telangana to elect new members of the Telangana Legislative Assembly.

The order said that in view of the request made by General Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Secretariat Association, Velagapudi, Amaravati, and as per the provision contained in Section 135 B (1) of the Representation of People Act, 1951, in case an employee of Government of AP with a voting right in Telangana state applies for leave with documentary proof of EPIC card, he / she is entitled for grant of paid holiday on the day of poll, that is, Thursday, November 30.

The order has been communicated to all departments of AP government in the secretariat and to heads of all government departments in Andhra Pradesh.
