Visakhapatnam gears up for Navy Day with enhanced security measures
To ensure safety and security of the anticipated large crowd, the collector instructed police to impose strict ban on flying kites, drones
Visakhapatnam: In preparation for the upcoming Navy Day operation demonstration event on December 4 at RK Beach, district collector Dr A. Mallikarjuna convened a crucial review meeting with senior officials, including representatives from the Indian Navy.
To ensure the safety and security of the anticipated large crowd, the collector instructed the police department to implement a strict ban on flying kites and drones in the vicinity of the event. Additionally, adequate lifeguards will be deployed along the coastline to prevent any drowning incidents.
Given the expected high turnout, the collector advised the VMRDA secretary to designate specific areas for barricading and arrange parking facilities for four-wheelers and two-wheelers at five designated locations, including Viswapriya Function Hall and Andhra University grounds.
To cater to the needs of the large gathering, the collector emphasized the importance of providing ample drinking water facilities, critical care ambulances, and bio-toilets at strategic points near the main venue.
Furthermore, the collector directed the traffic police to implement a comprehensive plan to ensure the smooth entry and exit of dignitaries and attendees.
