Hyderabad: A team of officers led by special chief secretary Arvind Kumar along with Quthbullapur MLA Vivekanand inspected the Fox Sagar lake in Kompally on Tuesday.

This was preparatory to the construction of a sewage treatment plant under the strategic nalla development programme(STP).

Officials said a comprehensive plan is in place to develop the lake. Under the STP programme, a fund of Rs 95 crore has been sanctioned for the purpose. Arvind Kumar advised officials to ensure no wastewater is released into the lake.

Seeking a report on the lake’s development plans, MLA Vivekanand said he would personally monitor the works. “In the interest of public convenience, the treatment plant with all facilities should be constructed fast,” he said.
