Bandi Seeks Trains Via TS
Hyderabad: BJP Lok Sabha member Bandi Sanjay Kumar has written to the railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw seeking alternative arrangements for trains originating from north India that are cancelled. He stated that the 60 special trains, which carry around 1.50 lakh passengers during the season, stand cancelled.
He said that some Swami Ayyappa devotees had met him seeking help to go to Sabarimala for their annual pilgrimage.
In the letter citing the cancellation of many trains to facilitate transportation to Ayodhya from all major cities for the Bhavya Prana Pratista ceremony scheduled for January 22, he sought a review of the decision on cancellation of trains from the north to Kerala via Telangana.
He said that these trains pass through several important cities, including Karimnagar. The trains are patronised by lakhs of Sabarimala -bound pilgrims, Sanjay pointed out.
The BJP national general secretary added that the news of cancellation of trains has come as a shock to all devotees. He sought alternative arrangements at least for all those with confirmed tickets from their respective destinations.
