Family of Five Commits Suicide in Anakapalli

Visakhapatnam: In a tragic incident, a family of five in Anakapalli ended their life. However, one among them is fighting for survival after attempting suicide. Reports from locals indicate an overwhelming debt as the reason behind the  incident.

Sivaramakrishna, a goldsmith from Tenali in Guntur district, had relocated with his family to Anakapalli.

The event unfolded on Thursday night when they consumed cyanide which claimed the lives of Sivaramakrishna (40), Madhavi (38), and their daughters Vaishnavi (16) and Lakshmi (13).

One of their other daughters Kusuma Priya (13) is currently undergoing treatment at Anakapalli Government Hospital. The family attempted suicide in their apartment near a local food stall close to the fire station.

As investigations begin, the police suspect the family might have ingested pesticides, possibly added to their rice that fateful night. The Town CI Tadar Mohan Rao leading a thorough inquiry.
