Non-voters barred ahead of tomorrow's advocate panel's polls

Hyderabad: The state bar council on Wednesday issued a circular directing election officers of all advocates bar associations in the state restricting entry of non-voters on the day of elections.

A. Narasimha Reddy, chairman of the council, said that they had also passed a resolution calling for strict checking and verification of voter ID proofs before allowing the eligible voters inside the premises.

The resolutions were taken in the backdrop of dissatisfaction at the High Court administration and their judges over campaigning and pasting posters of the contestants on all sides of the High Court premises and outside. Many non-voters were seen participating in the campaigning, he said.  Elections for the executive body of Telangana High Court advocates Association is scheduled for Friday.
