Last Kodanad break-in culprit held in Kerala
Police have already arrested eight accused, all hailing from Kerala, in this case.
Ooty: In the sensational Kodanad tea estate break-in investigation, one more accused, the last in the 11 member-gang that struck at the estate bungalow on April 23 night, has been arrested.
Police have already arrested eight accused, all hailing from Kerala, in this case. The second accused Sayan, who met with an accident, has been undergoing treatment in a hospital in Coimbatore.
Meanwhile, one Kanagaraj, ex-driver of late Chief minister Jayalalitha, the prime accused in the case, died in an accident near Salem.
While the Kodanad dacoity and murder tale kept the cops and media busy in recent weeks, the probe took a lethargic turn over recently as the cops could not nab one Kutty Jijin (33), the other accused in the case, also hailing from Thirussur in Kerala, who was at large.
Though he was playing hide and seek with the cops for nearly a month, on Sunday night the cops nabbed him in Kerala and brought him to Kotagiri on Monday for enquiry. He was taken to the estate bungalow to enable him to reenact his role on the fateful night in the bungalow premises.
