Hyderabad: Mentally ill woman jumps to death with daughter

Residents noticed the woman and child in a pool of blood and alerted the police.

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old housewife and her two-year-old daughter died under suspicious conditions after a fall from the top of an apartment building in their neighbourhood. The victims were identified as R. Renuka and Aradhya.

According to police, Renuka, a native of Amberpet, got married to R Ravi, a resident of Uppuguda. Ravi was working for a jewellery store. For the past few months, she was suffering from mental illness and was undergoing treatment.

On Friday morning after Ravi left for work, around 10am, she, along with her daughter, went to Meera Niketan apartment in the neighbourhood and jumped from the top.

Renuka’s father said that she was ill but they did not expect her to take such a step.

“She was under treatment and we were expecting that the situation would change,” he added.
