Bapatla: Meritorious kids of cops given scholarships

Students should have passed their Class 10 examination in 2023 with 90 per cent marks (75 per cent for students with disability) and studying for Intermediate in Telangana. The selected students will be eligible for a scholarship amount of Rs 10,000 per year for Intermediate. (By Aarrangement)

VIJAYAWADA: Bapatla district SP Vakul Jindal on Friday distributed ₹5.56 lakh worth scholarships to 31 children of police personnel who have scored good marks in 10th, inter, degree, post-graduate and medical courses.

Speaking on the occasion, Jindal said the scholarships are being distributed on orders of DGP K.V. Rajendranath Reddy from out of the Police Welfare Fund.

Earlier, the merit scholarship money was given in the form of cheques. Now, it is being directly deposited in bank accounts.

The SP asked children of all police personnel to study well, score good marks and receive merit awards. He requested parents to encourage their children to study well, so that they can reach their set goals with ease. He pointed out that the merit scholarships are given every year.

Additional SP P. Mahesh, reserve inspector (Welfare) B. Srikanth Naik, superintendent K. Radha, children and their parents participated in this programme.
