N Shanker Reddy wary of plot' against him
Thomas informed of child abuser-Vigilance officials nexus' to frame him.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Vigilance director N. Shanker Reddy has cautioned Vigilance chief Jacob Thomas against conspiracies by an alleged child abuser-turned corruption crusader and senior Vigilance officials to implicate him in false cases.
In a letter sent to Mr Thomas, Mr Reddy pointed out that “an absolutely false and misleading report was filed against me by an administrative assistant of your office”. This was subsequently exposed by the High Court but the criminal and illegal nexus had succeeded in getting a false report filed at the Vigilance Court, resulting in a quick verification against him, said Mr Reddy.
He urged the Vigilance chief’s “focused personal attention” for fear another false complaint was in the works against him at the Vigilance court. This was because alleged child abuser Paichira Navas had lodged a complaint, alleging that he had suppressed complaints against former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and others relating to depositions before the Solar Commission.
But the fact is that the HC had suspended proceedings based on depositions before the Solar Commission and therefore he could not have ordered any inquiry before leaving office as the Vigilance director.
He said it was possible that “false and distorted facts could be given under the RTI Act with a deliberate design to use them” against him. Certain statements attributed to him by the petitioner “are absolutely false and mischievous”.
He urged Mr Thomas to ensure falsehoods were not paraded before the HC in subsequent stages. He also reserved the right to move the criminal justice system, seeking justice against illegal and criminal activities targeted at him.
