There was a buzz that PM Narendra Modi would visit Mr Kumar on Tuesday or Wednesday. However there was no official confirmation.

On Monday, Union Health Minister Dr J.P. Nadda visited Mr Kumar who has represented the Bengaluru South parliamentary constituency six times since 1996.

Bengaluru: Union parliamentary affairs minister H.N. Ananth Kumar who is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city for pancreatic cancer, is in a  “precarious” condition according to sources in the BJP.

Earlier, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had visited their ailing cabinet colleague who also handles the chemicals and fertilisers portfolio in the Narendra Modi Cabinet.

On Monday, Union Health Minister Dr J.P. Nadda visited Mr Kumar who has represented the Bengaluru South parliamentary constituency six times since 1996.

When contacted, the hospital remained tight-lipped about the health status of 59-year-old Mr Kumar while the Union Minister’s office maintained that he was stable and was responding to treatment amid some speculation that his health is deteriorating.

There was a buzz that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Mr Kumar on Tuesday or Wednesday, however there was no official confirmation about this till Monday night. Before Mr Kumar was flown to the city a few days ago, he had undergone treatment in London and New York, said sources adding that he has been battling the disease for several months.
