Hyderabad: The Federation of Gated Communities Cyberabad (FGCC) on Sunday asked political parties to focus their attention on resolving traffic congestion, urban flooding, mosquito menace, poor illumination, sanitation and road restoration.

The apex body of 62 gated communities having over 100 flats each prepared a manifesto for political parties ahead of the Assembly polls.

“In Serilingampally, the population has drastically increased in the last few years. But infrastructure has not been developed on par with it. I urge the political parties to develop infrastructure to address the civic issues mentioned by FGCC,” said Dr Sai Ravi Shanker, the president of FGCC.

According to residents of the gated communities, sanitation continues to be poor around their gated community, and the mosquito menace is not addressed though fogging was done within their gated communities.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle on sanitation and the control of mosquitoes, GHMC chief entomologist Ram Babu said anti-larval operations (ALOs) are being taken up.

“GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose has laid special focus on sanitation and the entomology teams are doing ALOs and eliminating mosquito breeding sites in all the areas including the localities around gated communities, ” he said.

He said that GHMC was ready to train the staff of gated communities in controlling mosquitos inside their premises.

Rajeev Gautam from Aparna Cyber Commune at Nallagandla requested political parties to address the issue related to traffic congestion in their area.

“The road connecting Nallagandla to Tellapur witnesses heavy traffic and measures should be taken to smoothen the flow of traffic,” he said.
