Maoist encounter: V S Achuthanandan seeks action against police

In a letter to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, he said the killing of Maoists was a wrong action.

Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran leader V.S. Achuthanandan has demanded action against policemen responsible for the alleged encounter killings of Maoists in Nilambur forests. In a letter to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, he said the killing of Maoists was a wrong action. Those professing a wrong ideology should not be eliminated and they should be engaged in a dialogue.

“Even the Supreme Court had emphasised on this aspect," he said.   He said the Maoist encounter was fake and the officers responsible for tit  should be brought to justice. Meanwhile, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that Maoists who are operating in the forests should be allowed to surrender.
