EC Arranges Ballot to Those on Election Duty

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday disposed of a writ petition pertaining to postal ballot to teachers, who are on election duty. The bench, comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice J. Anil Kumar, considered the submission made by the Election Commission of India (ECI) that the issue of postal ballot was already addressed.

The Telangana Prantha Sangham filed the writ plea challenging the action of ECI and the general administration department (GAD) for not issuing postal ballots to teachers and employees on election duty across the state as a violation of the Representation of Peoples Act 1951 and Conduct of Election rules 1961.
