High Court Hears Petition Against ex-VC of AU
Visakhapatnam: AP High Court on Wednesday heard a petition filed by SC, ST, BC and Minority Alumni Association, which has made allegations of corruption and irregularities against former Andhra University vice chancellor Prasada Reddy.
It subsequently adjourned further hearing in the case for eight weeks.
Association joint secretary U.V. Ramana outlined a series of accusations against the former VC, including misappropriation of funds, violation of the AP University Act 1991, nepotism in appointments and unfair promotions, among others.
Association president Koti John and secretary Areti Mahesh referred to numerous decisions of Prasada Reddy, which sparked controversy.
Meanwhile, a demonstration at the Registrar's Office of Andhra University sought appointment of a Dalit woman as the new vice chancellor of Andhra University.
Led by Jana Sena state secretary Bodapati Shivdutt, the demonstrators demanded a fair investigation into the former vice chancellor’s alleged corrupt activities.
