Protest at Kollam law college against unfair' internal marks

KOLLAM: Students of Sree Narayana Guru College of Legal Studies in Kollam staged a token protest on Monday raising issues associated with awarding internal marks and the women’s hostel. Pro-SFI students boycotted classes and staged a sit-in forcing authorities to agree to hold talks with them on Tuesday. They allege the issues raised two-three weeks back remain unaddressed.
“The major one is the college management’s intervention in sanctioning internal marks. Influential students get good marks while others get neglected. The teachers even behave rudely with male students who are hesitant to wear full sleeve shirts,” M. Hari Krishnan, SFI district secretary, told DC. The protesters asked them to stop “intruding” into the privacy of students by removing surveillance cameras in classrooms and corridors. They warned to continue protests indefinitely if talks fail.
