Thiruvananthapuram: The re-examination of SSLC math paper, cancelled following a question paper leak, was held on Thursday from 1.45 to 4.30 pm. Question papers reached all 2,933 exam centres in the state as well as nine centres each in Lakshadweep and the Gulf in the morning itself as the government took all precautions to ensure a smooth conduct. The SSLC exam of the current academic year turned controversial after 12 questions that appeared on the model question paper of a private institution reappeared in the board exam.

The exams were earlier slated to end on March 27. Evaluation of answer papers will be held in 54 centres in two phases from April 3 to 12 and April 12 to 17. School-level exams from Class V to IX were also held in schools in the morning. They included Class  V basic science, Class VII first language and Class VIII social science, scheduled earlier for Friday but advanced to Thursday following the motor vehicle strike. Teachers who have SSLC exam duty in schools over eight kilometres away were exempted from regular duties of conducting tests for the Class V to Class IX exams.
