A K Antony hands over new house to Ambily S Rangan
The foundation stone of the new house was laid by former chief minister Oommen Chandy on February 20.
KOCHI: Ambily S Rangan who sustained serious injuries after being allegedly hacked by her neighbour for spurning his proposal has got a new lease of life and a new place to stay. The new house built by K.V Thomas MP’s Vidyadhanam Trust was handed over to her by Senior Congress leader A.K. Antony on Tuesday at a function held at Udayamperoor. The foundation stone of the new house was laid by former chief minister Oommen Chandy on February 20. Yasoram builders completed construction of the house in three months.
Ambily and her parents and siblings were staying in a rented house. K.V Thomas who visited the girl, when she was admitted in hospital after the attack, had offered to build a new house for the family. Ambily, a degree student of the DB College, Thalayolaparambu, scored high marks at the school level and got a Vidyadhanam scholarship in 2015. K.V Thomas, M. Swaraj MLA, former minister K. Babu and other leaders were also present at the function.
