CM lends an ear to kids' disability

To benefit visually challenged persons, modern glowing foldable sticks would be provided to 5,000 such individuals this year.

Chennai: Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Tuesday announced that a pilot project to detect hearing deficiency in children at an early stage would be launched in Chennai and Sivagangai districts where the number of hearing impaired children is high.

In a suo motu announcements made in the Assembly, she said hearing disability can be cured if addressed at an early stage and therefore a pilot pr-oject will be implemented in Chennai and SivagangaI districts.
