LDF government bans Onam celebrations during office hours

As it is a holiday from September 10 to 16, there is enough time to celebrate Onam without clashing with office work.

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government issued an order on Tuesday curbing Onam celebrations during office hours. The order issued by chief secretary S.M. Vijayanand to head of departments said that the celebration should be conducted without creating inconvenience to public. It said the government was not against Onam celebrations in offices if they did not clash with office hours.

As it is a holiday from September 10 to 16, there is enough time to celebrate Onam without clashing with office work. The order wanted the secretaries to take steps to implement the order. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had also warned officials against using office hours to decorate Pookkalams and conducting other Onam celebrations in office premises.
