Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran BJP leader and Nemom MLA O. Rajagopal is most likely to be summoned to New Delhi by BJP national president Amit Shah. The BJP State leadership has been peeved for some time with the former State president who has been not active in the ongoing Assembly session. He had earlier alleged that the two factions in the BJP were yet to settle the money spent for the Assembly elections as well as the three-day-long BJP national council meet in Kozhikode in September.

In a recent television interview, Rajagopal had defended his action saying that he had his own style of functioning and when required he would act in the Assembly. Recently he had irked the State leadership when he declared to Pinarayi Vijyan that he was the best Chief Minister. Within a day, BJP State general secretary K. Surendran retaliated that Pinarayi had proved within four months that he was the worst Chief Minister Kerala ever had. A senior BJP leader told DC that in the letter that Rajagopal shot off to Amit Shah, he had alleged that there was illegal fund mobilization which is a serious issue.

“It is reliably learnt that Rajagopal’s actions have not gone down well with the two factions in the party. BJP State president Kummanam Rajasekharan has also not reacted properly as demanded of a party chief. After Rajagopal gave a complaint against the factional politics in the State, he is most likely to be summoned to New Delhi”, said a senior BJP leader. Despite the central auditing team making frequent trips to the State immediately after the Assembly elections, there is still lack of clarity on the accounts. Later when the BJP national council was held at Kozhikode, there were allegations that the party was extravagant.
