Telangana: Universities to teach disaster management

The workshop covered various policies and programmes on disaster management in Telangana.

Hyderabad: National Council of Rural Institute held a two day state-level consultation workshop on capacity building and rural resilience in university curriculum in Telangana on Monday. The curriculum inputs and interventions covering both theoretical and practical aspects for inclusion will be finalised and introduced from the academic year 2018-19.

The workshop covered various policies and programmes on disaster management in Telangana, followed by interaction with experts from Unicef, National Disaster Response Force, National Service Scheme and the department of higher education who will discuss planning, designing and development of curriculum for higher education in the state and building rural resilience against disasters through higher education interventions.
