Telangana MP seeks Marathwada Express up to Nizamabad

Nizamabad: Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind on Saturday said he has sent a proposal to Indian Railways for extending the Marathwada Express from Dharmabad in neighbouring Nanded district of Maharashtra to Nizamabad in Telangana. He has also sought extension of Tirupati-bound Rayalaseema Express up to Bodhan from Nizamabad.

In addition, Arvind said he has requested railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to increase the frequency of Karimnagar-Mumbai special train from twice a week to thrice a week.

In a statement on Saturday, the MP said railway over bridge works in Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency limits are in full swing. To resolve traffic problems, the central government has sanctioned cent percent funds for ROB works. He said he is reviewing the works regularly and pressuring contractors to complete the works in a timely manner. Mamidipally and Adavi Mamidipally railway over bridge will be completed at the earliest, he assured.

Arvind said ROB works at Govindpet have been completed and the bridge will be inaugurated soon. Long-pending dream of ROB at Madhavanagar in Nizamabad will be fulfilled shortly, as works are in full swing. Permissions for Arsapally in Nizamabad and Bodhan ROB works will come soon. Goods shed will be shifted to Jankampet from Nizamabad at an estimated cost of ₹12 crore, he stated.
