APNRTS Starts Helpline for Students Stranded in Kyrgyzstan

Vijayawada: APNRTS, an entity of the Andhra Pradesh government, started a 24/7 Helpline to help AP students stranded in Kyrgyzstan.

Its chief executive officer, Hemalatha Rani, said that due to the prevailing situation in one region of Kyrgyzstan, the Union external affairs ministry released an advisory on May 18, requesting Indian citizens and students in that region to be vigilant. They have been asked to contact the local embassy of India@0555710041 in case of an emergency.

Mentioning that Kyrgyzstan is one of the most preferred countries for medicine courses for Indian students, she said the students were safe. No attacks have been made on any Indian till now. Citizens of AP and students can reach out to APNRTS 24/7 Helpline @ +91 863 2340678; +91 85000 27678(W) or email @ info@apnrts.com; helpline@apnrts.com and Embassy of India Helpline in Kyrgyzstan @ 0555710041 for assistance.

The CEO said the central government is monitoring the situation continuously with the local government and requested Indian students to stay indoors and be in touch with the embassy.

APNRTS has posted information about the MEA advisory and the situation in Kyrgyzstan on its official website, social media handles such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

As advised by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, now on a foreign tour, APNRTS is ascertaining the situation in Kyrgyzstan continuously. On May 18, four students from AP contacted the APNRTS 24/7 Helpline and informed them that students of AP and other states were in safe places in Kyrgyzstan.
