DC Impact: GHMC Starts Working on Ending Waterlogging at Flyovers

HYDERABAD:  Following a news report that was published in Deccan Chronicle on May 21, about water exit outlets on either side of the roads and flyovers being closed with bitumen layer as one of the reasons for water logged roads, GHMC officials swung into action and started resolving the civic apathy.

The comprehensive road maintenance programme (CRMP) agencies entrusted the road maintenance and road restoration responsibilities closed the water exit outlets and the same was reported in Deccan Chronicle.

Dozens of water exit outlets that were closed with bitumen layers, including those located in Secunderabad and Kukatpally zones, were reopened. The staff also cleared the debris and garbage under it.

“This activity will continue. We will ensure that roads and flyovers are not waterlogged,” said a GHMC official.
