VISHAKHAPATNAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Amaravati has issued a yellow warning for several districts across the state, effective from April 24 to 27. This indicates potential heatwave conditions.
Dr Karunasagar, a scientist at IMD-Amaravati, cautioned the public about rising temperatures in Rayalaseema and some coastal Andhra Pradesh (CAP) regions. He predicted heatwave conditions in Rayalaseema on Wednesday, while CAP regions will experience hot, humid, and uncomfortable weather. The heatwave is expected to persist over both Rayalaseema and CAP regions through April 25, 26, and 27. Dr Karunasagar added that after April 25, residents can expect hot and humid conditions with no respite from the pre-monsoon showers.
Temperatures are expected to soar above 44°C in some areas of Rayalaseema and above 42°C in most coastal Andhra Pradesh regions.
