Vijayawada: Krishna district collector D.K. Balaji announced that the health and related programmes implemented by the district departments will be reviewed weekly. On Tuesday, Balaji convened a meeting with officials from the district health department to assess the performance of government hospitals, Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and other health initiatives.

District medical and health officer Dr. J. Geetha Bai provided an overview of the district's health infrastructure, including government medical colleges, 49 PHCs, the government general hospital in Machilipatnam, the area hospital in Gudivada, 13 Urban Primary Health Centers, and various community health centers in villages. She also reported on the staffing and vacancies in these institutions.

Balaji emphasised that following the elections, daily teleconferences with field staff should be conducted to review health programmes. He committed to personally reviewing these programmes on a weekly basis. A meeting scheduled for June 18 will address the responsibilities of medical staff and their progress. Additionally, Balaji directed the district medical and health officer to prepare job charts and a PowerPoint presentation detailing the duties of each group of staff. He also instructed that any pending court cases within their departments should have timely counter-filings to avoid delays.
