Hyderabad: Amidst the ongoing rescue operations in Wayanad, after a destructing landslide, a student of class third wrote a heartwarming note to the Indian Army, in which he expressed gratitude for their efforts in rescuing people from the debris and his aim of joining the Indian army one day, to protect the nation.

The southern command of the Indian Army responded to the student by saying, that they are eagerly waiting for the day he dons the uniform and stands alongside them.
Days after the catastrophe that killed over 300 people and left several others missing and injured, "Master Rayan" wrote a letter in Malayalam expressing his pride at seeing the Army's commitment to rescuing those buried beneath the debris. Rayan recounted how he was brought to tears when he saw a video of soldiers surviving on biscuits while building a bridge.
A rough translation of Rayan's letter to the Indian army reads, "Dear Indian Army, my beloved Wayanad was struck by a massive landslide, creating havoc and destruction. I felt proud and happy to see you rescuing people stuck under debris."
"I just saw the video where you had biscuits to sate your hunger and building a bridge. The site moved me deeply and I aspire to join the Indian Army one day and protect my nation," he added further.

In response to Rayan's letter, the Indian Army wrote, "Your heartfelt words have deeply touched us. In times of adversity, we aim to be a beacon of hope, and your letter reaffirms this mission. Heroes like you inspire us to give our utmost. We eagerly await the day you don the uniform and stand alongside us. Together, we will make our nation proud."
