Kanchanjunga Express Train Accident: Centre Announces Exgratia of Rs 10 lakh to kin of Deceased

Hyderabad: Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday announced that ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh will be provided to the kin of the people who lost lives in the Kanchanjunga Express train accident in West Bengal.
The Minister also announced Rs 2.5 lakh to victims who are grievously injured and Rs 50,000 for persons with minor injuries.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced exgratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased in the railway accident and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the Kanchanjunga Express train accident. The PM conveyed his condolences and said the railway accident is saddening.
On Monday morning, a goods train rammed into Kanchanjunga express train killing 9 persons and injuring 46 people.
