Charged with helping accused son flee to Dubai

Hyderabad: The Bureau of Immigration and Hyderabad police issued a lookout notice (LOC) against former BRS legislator, the mastermind who monitored from Dubai and directed his men to harbour his accused son Mohammed Raheel Amer in Dubai by hoodwinking the police.

An LOC has also been issued against Shakeel’s close aides Shahed , Zakria and Arbaz, who harboured Amer by misleading Panjagutta police and fled to Dubai.

Around at 2.45 am On December 24, Amer in an inebriated condition rammed his speeding BMW (TS013 ET 0777) into the barricades at Praja Bhavan after losing control of his vehicle.

Later he informed the police that he was drunk and had committed the accident as directed by his father Shakeel Ahmed on phone.

Zakria, Shahed and Arbaz, on Shakeel’s instructions, reached Panjagutta police station within minutes and blamed his driver Abdul Asif for the accident, against whom a case was registered.

Sohil and Amer, who were arrested later, spilled the beans and revealed that Zakria, Shahed and Arbaz had helped Raheel Amer in fleeing to Dubai.

Asif was arrested on December 26, while his associates Sohil and Amer were taken into custody on Tuesday.

“We have registered impersonation cases and for misleading the police against Shakeel, Ahmed, Zakria, Arbaz and Raheel, who all are presently in Dubai. We have also issued a LOC against them. We have identified 10 persons for helping the main accused,” said M. Vijay Kumar DCP west zone.

The DCP’s report submitted on December 27 confirmed that Raheel Amer had fled to Dubai. City police commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy ordered suspension of Panjagutta inspector B. Durga Rao for false implication of another person.

“We are also probing the March 2022 incident wherein Raheel was in an SUV that killed a toddler in Jubilee Hills,” Vijay Kumar said.
