New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Monday, during which the two leaders reviewed the progress of bilateral relations and cooperation in multilateral forums, including the Quad.

India is set to host the Quad Summit later this year. The Quad, a strategic alliance comprising India, the United States, Japan, and Australia, is focused on ensuring freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific region, including the South China Sea, amid rising Chinese military assertiveness.

Following the conversation, Modi shared on social media platform X, "Delighted to speak to my friend Anthony Albanese. We took stock of progress in our bilateral relations and cooperation in the multilateral fora, including the Quad.”
