MP Bandi Sanjay Urges CM Revanth Reddy to Aid Weavers
BJP General Secretary highlights crisis in Sircilla textile industry, seeks support.
Karimnagar: BJP national general secretary and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday wrote an open letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, requesting him to help the people of weavers’ community, citing a crisis in the Sircilla textile industry.
He underlined that more than 20,000 workers depending on the textile industry are facing a lot of hardships. For the past seven years, this industry has been totally dependent only on orders given by the government.
The MP pointed out that the situation of weavers went worse because the previous BRS government had not cleared ₹220 crore bills pertaining to the Bathukamma sarees.
Sanjay requested the CM to understand the weavers' problems and release the bills immediately, along with implementing the “Worker to Owner” scheme keeping in view welfare of the weaver's community.
Later, at Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple in Kondagattu of Jagtial district, the BJP national general secretary welcomed priests from Chilukuri Balaji Temple, who have embarked on an ambitious yatra of carrying Sri Rama Padukas on their head and proceeding to Ayodhya by walk.
