MP: Part of canopy in Jabalpur airport collapses, none hurt, probe ordered
Bhopal: A portion of a canopy built for the beautification of the newly constructed building of Jabalpur airport in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday collapsed under the weight of water accumulated on it due to heavy rain.
The detached part of the canopy along with the huge volume of water fell on a car parked below, damaging its roof, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) said.
No one was hurt. The driver had gone to the airport after parking the car, which belonged to an officer of the income-tax department.
Under the modernisation project, a new terminal building, ATC tower, technical block, fire station category VII , other buildings and extension of runway and associated works have been constructed in the airport to facilitate the operations of AB-320 type of aircraft.
