MP: Uma Bharti’s security officer gets threat calls from Pakistan, Dubai

Bhopal: Security of senior BJP leader and former Union minister Uma Bharti has been strengthened after her security officer received ‘threat’ calls from Pakistan and Dubai seeking her location.
A sub-inspector of police deployed in security of Uma Bharti received calls seeking her location, the office of the BJP leader said on Thursday.
The security officer traced the calls to Pakistan and Dubai through caller ID.
The security officer immediately took up the matter with the police.
The crime branch of the Madhya Pradesh police registered a case in connection with the incident and began investigation into it, police said.
The calls were made from mobile phones and traced to Pakistan and Dubai, police said.
“It appears to be a case of cyber-crime. We have approached the telecom companies concerned seeking details of the suspicious WhatsApp numbers”, a crime branch officer said here on Thursday.
Uma Bharti is currently on a spiritual tour to Uttarakhand and other Himalayan regions.
This is the first time, the security officer of Uma Bharti received threat calls.
The police meanwhile strengthened security at Uma Bharti’s official residence here following the development.
