NDA Leaders Meet to Discuss One Nation, One Poll
NEW DELHI: The ruling NDA alliance’s leaders held a coordination meeting on Friday at the residence of BJP president and union minister J.P. Nadda.
Sources said ‘One Nation One Election’ and Parliament-related issues were also discussed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech once again reiterated the need for the ‘One Nation One Election’.
Sources said the NDA leaders also decided to meet at least once a month. Parliamentary Affairs minister Kiren Rijiju said that on several occasions leaders of smaller parties have complained that many times their MPs are allotted less than five minutes to raise their issues in both Houses because of their numerical strength.
Rijiju assured leaders that the government would request the Chair in both Houses to exceed at least an hour of the total time allocated for discussion and debates.
