Hyderabad: As the country is on the boil over the question paper leak allegations and other irregularities in the conduct of the Nation Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions into undergraduate medical and dental courses, a confession by arrested students admitting to Bihar police that the paper was leaked to them, is adding fuel to the fire.
The four arrested persons, include three students, who took the NEET 2024 and one engineer from Danapur municipal council. All the four have admitted and confessed to the police that the question paper of the coveted entrance test was leaked to them a day prior and they had received the same question paper on the day of the exam.
In addition, the engineer identified as Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu in his confession letter made shocking revelations. He said that he was in contact with a racket that leaks question papers of not just the NEET but also of UPSC exams.
Bihar police have earlier recovered 6 post dated cheques suspected to have been issued in favour of racket demanding almost Rs 30 lakh from each candidate desiring a leaked question paper for the NEET-UG 2024.
Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the centre have denied any paper leak and have cancelled the grace marks awarded to over 1,500 students.
The results of the coveted exam which was written by almost 24 lakh students on May 5 were released on June 4.
