Adilabad:Dissident councillors of BRS won the no-confidence motion moved against their BRS chairman and vice-chairman in Kagaznagar municipality in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district on Saturday. As many as 21 councillors took part in the no-confidence vote and won the motion. The dissidents are the supporters of former MLA Koneru Konappa.

The councillors of Koneru Konappa faction alleged that chairman Saddam Hussain did not support Konappa in the Assembly polls and that led to a no-confidence motion against the municipal chairman.

There were anxious movements as far as the no-confidence motion was concerned since 21 members' support was required to win the no-confidence motion while the chairman made all efforts to defeat the motion but he could not.

The dissidents said they were fed up with the autocratic attitude of the municipal chief who failed to develop the municipality. They claimed there were plenty of reasons for them to move a no-confidence motion against the chairman and vice-chairman Rachakonda Girishkumar of the BRS.

Of the total 31 members including MLA who is an ex-officio member, 24 dissident BRS councillors have moved the motion.
