Hyderabad: BRS leader T. Harish Rao expressed the sentiments shared by party leaders and workers, indicating that the 'non-traditional' approach to politics adopted by party president K. Chandrashekar Rao had contributed to their loss in the Assembly elections.

During a meeting with party leaders from the Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha constituency on Wednesday, Harish Rao promised that what the party workers want will be implemented in the future, pointing to the series of meetings initiated on January 3. He said the meetings yielded a huge number of valuable suggestions and feedback from party members. Emphasising the importance of aligning with the aspirations of party workers, he assured, "The party will work as per your inputs."

While acknowledging a sense of disappointment over the Assembly election results and a perceived lack of attentiveness from the party leadership to workers' concerns, Harish Rao encouraged a forward-looking perspective. “It is time to work with renewed vigour and ensure BRS wins many seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections as only BRS can be the voice of Telangana in the Parliament,” he said.

Commenting on the Congress government in the state, Harish Rao doubted its ability to fulfil promises, citing a budget of Rs 2.90 lakh crore as insufficient for implementation. He predicted that the Congress government would soon concede its inability to uphold commitments, pointing out the financial strain of Rs 3.50 lakh crore annually. Harish Rao also criticised the new government for raising unnecessary issues when pressed to uphold its word.
