Odisha: Man kills wife, 12-year-old daughter before shooting himself
Police said the accused man was financial stress after losing money in online games
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha police on Thursday recovered three bullet-ridden bodies, including a minor girl, from a car at Uddharlakhanpur near Banipahada in Jharsuguda district.
The deceased were identified as Sujit Ray, his wife and 12-year daughter. They lived at Kalinagar under Brajrajnagar police limits in Jharsuguda district.
As per reports, all of them sustained bullet injuries on their heads.
Upon being informed, the local police reached the spot with a scientific team. Investigation into the incident was currently underway.
The police suspected that the man committed suicide after killing his wife and daughter over some issues.
“Investigation so far reveals that Sujit was under serious financial stress after he lost over Rs 4 lakh in playing online games. He had also borrowed money from his friends and relatives who would insist him to return their funds. Since he was unable to return their money, he might have taken such extreme steps,” the police said, adding the exact motive behind the deaths would be ascertained only after the probe is over.
A pall of gloom has descended in the area following the tragic incident.
